2017 HELEN DAVIS NEA-LC Scholarship
Student Scholarship Application
Scholarships will be awarded to a 2017 Las Cruces area high school graduate whose parent grandparent or legal guardian is an NEA-LC member and who will be attending an institution of higher education in the fall of 2017.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: To be considered, each applicant must provide:

NOTE: DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS APRIL 24, 2017.
Selection Process: application materials must be in the hands of the Scholarship Committee by the deadline. The Scholarship Committee will carefully review all applications and make it’s recommendations to NEA-LC Board of Directors at their next Board meeting. The Board will make the final decision. Funds will be distributed at the NEA-LC retirement banquet to be held in May . The funds will not be given to the student unless they or a member of their family is there to accept the scholarship money.

- Parent, grandparent or legal guardian of the applicant is a current CERTIFIED NEA-LC member.
- Be a 2017 graduate of a Las Cruces area high school.
- Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
- Be able to show promise of completing your chosen program
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: To be considered, each applicant must provide:
- A current unofficial transcript of your high school courses and grades earned.
- One letter of reference verifying your academic promise and personal achievement. The letter MUST be from someone connected with your high school, job, volunteer sponsor (ex. Scout leader, church leader, etc.). Letters from relatives will not be accepted.
- A statement in your own words regarding educational and vocational goals and preparations
