NEA-LC's Community Schools Action Team believes that community schools serve as a hub of  opportunity for the students and community. Community Schools are responsive to the needs and aspirations of LCPS students, families, and communities. Our Community Schools Action Team focuses on six pillars;
  1.  ENGAGING & CULTURALLY RELEVANT CURRICULA
  2. HIGH QUALITY TEACHING & NOT HIGH STAKES TESTING
  3. WRAP-AROUND SERVICES
  4. RESTORATIVE JUSTICE
  5. TRANSFORMATIONAL PARENT & COMMUNITY ENGAGMENT
  6. SHARED LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHY

Recent actions for our Community Schools include Lynn's Community School Ribbon Cutting event where over 100 community members, and the entire Lynn Middle school staff and student-body were present. Restorative Practices presentations, training and  mindfulness strategies have been organized. As well as the completion of the needs assessment for Lynn Community School. For more info
