NEA-LC's Community Schools Action Team believes the movement of Community Schools is the antidote for negative rhetoric of failing public schools. Community Schools are a response to and reflective of the needs and aspirations of LCPS students, families, and communities. Our Community Schools Action Team focuses on six pillars;
Recent actions for our Community Schools include Lynn's Community School Ribbon Cutting event where over 100 community members, and the entire staff and student-body were present this past January. More than 75 students attending the after school community school workshops and activities. And the hiring of a District-wide Community Schools Coordinator.
